Area Guide

Green Turtle Cay is located in the Abacos of the Bahamas, just 70 minutes by air from South Florida. The main settlement on the island is New Plymouth which was founded in the 18th Century. The island is 3 miles long and ½ mile wide. This quiet and quaint island has a small population of approximately 450 people and is known for its exceptional beaches, relaxation, deep sea fishing, and great diving offshore. The architecture on the island is unique to the Bahamas with homes resembling those of the turn of the century New England seaside village.

In New Plymouth one can visit the Loyalist Memorial Sculpture Garden that contains 24 busts of famous Bahamians and their history. Visit the Albert Lowe Museum which contains artifacts, displays, and paintings depicting the life of the Loyalists who settled in New Plymouth from the American colonies.
